The Faculty of Computer Engineering and Science at Al-Ahgaff University wins three medals in the International Competition for Creative Innovation Ideas (ICIIC2024)

The Faculty of Computer Engineering and Science at Al-Ahgaff University participated in the International Competition for Creative Innovation Ideas (ICIIC2024) organized by the MNNF network, where (488) ideas were submitted as video presentations from several different countries, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Qatar, and Yemen. Three different groups from the Information Technology (IT) Department at the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Science participated in the competition, supervised by Dr. Hamza Al-Aidaroos.

 

The first group consisted of five students from the fourth level, namely: Abdullah Bazar, Ahmed Basalem, Hussein Belfaqih, Moatasem bin Omar Ba-Omar, and Naif Al-Sibai. The second group consisted of five students from the third level, namely: Mujahid Bathan, Ibrahim Bahjaj, Khaled Badhawi, Ahmed Hadhboul, and Ali Bamasoud. The third group consisted of three students from the third level as well, namely: Muhammad Masoung, Abdulaziz Basultan, and Ayman Al-Tairi. The three groups presented innovative ideas that won the admiration of the organizing committee and the judging committee, which consisted of (162) arbitrators who have extensive experience in the field. The first and second groups won two silver medals, while the third group won a gold medal. This was announced on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. The organizing committee also announced the publication of 52 professional projects, including the first group students’ project, which will be published as chapters and scientific papers in a book bearing an ISBN number in the coming weeks.

 

For his part, Dr. Hamza Al-Aidaroos, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Science, extended his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Professor Abdullah bin Muhammad Baharoon, President of the University, and to Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon, Vice President of the University, and to Engineer Fayez Ahmed Bin Shamla, Secretary General of the University, for their encouragement of the students and their interest in participating in this competition, which was had the impact, after God’s Will, in obtaining the three medals. The Dean of the Faculty also congratulated the members of the three groups on their victory and obtaining this honor, praising their efforts to achieve victory and raise the name of the Faculty and University in this international competition.

 

It is worth noting that a group of faculty students participated in the RICP International Competition in February last year, and their participation won a gold medal.
