The Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Ahgaff University celebrates the graduation of the nineteenth batch of its students

In the presence of the Chancellor of Al-Ahgaff University, Professor Abdullah bin Mohammed Baharoun, the Faculty of Sharia and Law held on Monday 16/7/2018 a farewell and honoring ceremony for the students of the nineteenth batch from the departments of Sharia, and Sharia and Law at the Faculty. A number of 104 students from six different nationalities; Yemeni, Indonesian, Malaysian, Somali, Ethiopian, and Tanzanian.

 

The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Ali Al-Khatib, Professor of Islamic Shafie jurisprudence at the Faculty, and all the heads of departments, teachers, employees and a large number of parents of students, guests and students. The ceremony started by reciting verses of the Holy Quran presented by the Indonesian student Mohammed Yahya, followed by reading some blessed sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

 

Then the student Shamsuddin Bin Hamza from Ethiopia gave a speech of the graduating students, in which he thanked the university represented by its Chancellor, Professor Abdullah bin Mohammed Baharoun and all its supervisors, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law and its teachers and working staff.

 

The student, Shamsuddin, spoke to the teachers thanking them for their efforts and their time in educating the students and building their ideas and nourishing them for their benefit in this world and the Hereafter.

 

Shamsuddin reviewed some of the situations that the students went through with their teachers and showed the extent of the interest of teachers in the preparation of lessons and their efforts in building the mentality of students and cultivating the love of science in them and prepare them to take care of the issues of their religion and nation.

 

Shamsuddin also addressed his fellow graduates, stressing that their separation is one of the most difficult things, after their company in the halls of science and knowledge for five years.

 

The student Shamseddin emphasized that the most important thing that students learned from this university in addition to the scientific aspects is the flexibility in dealing with people and reality, as religion means treatment as said by the Prophet peace be upon him.

 

Shamseddin thanked the University and the Faculty for all the efforts exerted for the students to achieve this great achievement and reach the graduation stage. He called upon Allah to help the students in their journey in a way that achieves the intentions and objectives of the university in serving the religion and the Islamic nation.

 

After that, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Abdullah Awad Bin Sumait, delivered the speech of the Faculty congratulating the students on the joy of their graduation and expressed the pleasure of all of their graduation.

 

The Dean of the Faculty said that the Faculty is making every effort to facilitate the task of students in their seek for knowledge, and that all the members of the Faculty with different responsibilities do not spare any effort to serve the students and overcome the obstacles in front of them despite the conditions experienced by the nation in general and our country in particular.

 

The Dean of the College concluded his speech with multiple commandments to the students. He first recommended that they be pious to God, and that they respect the sanctity of the science and knowledge they have learned and to spread it and that they should be eligible for the trust to be beneficial to the nation and the communities to which they return.

 

The audience of the ceremony then listened to the speech of Professor Abdullah Mohammed Baharoun, Chancellor of the University, who congratulated the students on the occasion of their graduation, describing it as their first wedding ceremony.

 

Habib Baharoun stressed that the Faculty is interested in graduating the student who is aware of his reality and who can employ what he has learned to benefit the nation and society in a conscious and correct way.

The University Chancellor mentioned that the university plans to set up a special mosque in the Faculty of Sharia and Law, which will be a mosque and an institute at the same time where students can apply textual studies they have learned at the faculty.

The University Chancellor stressed that the student must know at this time that the world has become a single village and that the student must be qualified to answer the questions that will face him in reality and that he must develop his jurisprudence knowledge so that he can offer benefit for his community accordingly.

 

The university president also instructed the students to be guardians of religion and urged them to realize this by attending the scientific courses held hoping that all graduate students can keep the attendance of such courses in order to complete the benefit and to finalize what the student needs in his reality and to keep him attached to concepts that he may not find elsewhere.

He also stressed the need to continue communication between graduates and the faculty through activating the role of the Committee of Fatwa and Research at the Faculty.

 

At the end of his speech, he urged all teachers to continue to improve and innovate, pledging to exert more efforts in the service of knowledge, students and sponsors, thanking them for their patience in tolerating the bad conditions that the university is experiencing in some cases.

 

After the end of the speech of the Chancellor of the University, he was honored by the students who also honored the Dean of the Faculty and the Heads of Departments, and a number of students who scored distinction and were characterized by good morals and behavior in this batch.

 

After that, the audience listened to a photojournalist reportage of the students telling their journey to seek knowledge since their arrival to Yemen, and portraying the events and facts they experienced over the period of their studies at the university.

 

Then the graduate student, Mansour Bajeri, delivered an excellent poem that was appreciated by the audience, in which he expressed the students' conditions and their joy in their graduation, thanking the university and its organizers.

 

After that, the audience listened to an operetta by a group of students of the faculty, which included two songs and a poetic piece that won everyone's approval.

 

The ceremony was concluded by honoring all the students and handing them certificates and graduation shields by the University Chancellor and the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia. Finally pictures of the students were taken with the University Chancellor and all faculty members as a memorial.

 

At the conclusion of the celebration, everyone ate dinner in an atmosphere of joy and rejoicing.

 

We ask Allah Almighty to grant success to the graduate students in their scientific journey and to crown their efforts and patience with all good and to realize the hopes and intentions of those who are responsible for the University.
