A field visit for the students of the fourth level, the Department of Sharia and Law, at Al-Ahgaff University, to the Saba Islamic Bank and some administrative institutions in the Valley and the Sahara

Within the program of applied field visits conducted by the students of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Ahgaff University to the areas of practical reality, the students of the fourth level of the Faculty of Sharia and law carried out a field visit to the branch of Saba Islamic Bank in Seiyun and the office of the Ministry of Human Rights in the Valley and the Sahara and the office of the Ministry of Finance in the Valley and the Sahara accompanied by Dr. Hassan Buruk Basyod, assistant professor of criminal law at the faculty, Dr. Abdul Rahman Hassan Belfaqih, assistant professor of commercial law at the faculty, Dr. Nizar Sheikh Al-Qarn, assistant professor of civil law at the faculty, and Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Bahumaid, assistant professor of public finance at the faculty.

The trip started in the morning from the campus of the faculty in Tarim, where they were first headed to the branch of Saba Islamic Bank in Seiyun. They were received by Mr. Muhammad Ahmed Al-Habshi, director of the branch, and Dr. Muhammad Yahya Al-Kabsi, director of Sharia supervision in the bank branch. Mr. Al-Habshi  welcomed the teaching staff and students of the Faculty of Sharia and Law praising the graduates of the faculty and that he is one of the graduates of this institution majoring in business administration and noted the need to benefit from what is being studied and match it with practical reality, then Dr. Al-Kabsi spoke, welcoming the teachers and students, and talked about the bank’s departments and the services provided by the bank and the legal adaptation of these services, referring to the history of Islamic economics and its emergence and the comparison between it and the western economics and answered the students’ inquiries. At the end of the meeting, the teachers and students thanked the branch officials for the warm reception, the scientific interest, and the opportunity for this visit. After that, the teachers and students went to the office of the Ministry of Human Rights in the Valley and the Sahara, and they were received by Lawyer Omar Al-Amri, Director General of the Office of the Ministry of Human Rights in the Valley and the Sahara and Mr. Abdul Basit Basowitin, Director General of the Saba News Agency in the Valley and the Sahara and Mr. Rayan Bakhrisa, Director of the Office of the Director-General of the Human Rights Office. The honorable hosts welcomed the teachers and students of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, praising the university’s graduates locally and abroad. Then, lawyer Omar Al-Amri spoke about the nature of the office’s work, its competencies, tasks, the date of its establishment and the work that it carried out noting the need for community awareness by the faculty graduates and that Islamic Sharia is the lofty principle from which freedoms and rights are based. The faculty students raised some questions and inquiries regarding issues of human rights and freedoms at the local and international levels. In the end, the faculty teachers and students thanked the director of the Ministry’s office for the warm reception and opening the door for discussion and inquiry.

Then the teachers and students moved to the office of the Ministry of Finance, and they were received by Mr. Awad Yaslam Al-Aijem, director of the Ministry of Finance’s office in the Valley and the Sahara, and his deputy, Mr. Ali Saeed Hamid. They welcomed them and explained the tasks carried out by the administration, the progress of the state revenue process, how to disburse salaries to employees and how to prepare the state facilities budget listening to a number of students’ questions and answering them, then the students toured the rest of the departments in the office to get acquainted closely with the practical method of what had been previously explained by the director and his deputy. At the end of the meeting, the teachers and students thanked the hosts in the office of the Ministry of Finance for giving them the opportunity to see the progress of the financial process in the country and answer the questions asked by them.
