Selection of Al-Ahgaff University a Member of the Executive Council of the Association of Islamic Universities


The inaugural meeting of the Islamic Universities Association was held on Wednesday, 25 April 2018 at the University of Alexandria, Egypt, with the official attendance of the Egyptian Government represented by the Minister of Awqaf, Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Jumah Mabrouk, where the welcoming speeches were given by the organizers of the conference. After the break, the Executive Council of the Association of Islamic Universities held a meeting.

Then, the tenth meeting of the General Assembly of the Association of Islamic Universities was held and Dr. Jaafar Abdul Salam was re-elected as Secretary General of the Association and Al-Ahgaff University was elected as a member of the Executive Council of the Association of Islamic Universities. At the end of the session, the University of Al-Ahgaff donated the shield of the University to Alexandria University to emphasize the links between the two universities.

On the sidelines of the 10th Conference of the Association of Islamic Universities held on Thursday, April 26 an international conference in the same university under the title of the need for the world to activate the role of the Islamic economy and finance.


On the sidelines of the conference, Dr. Sadiq Omar Maknoun, Vice Chancellor of the University, met with the Chancellor of the University of Alexandria, Prof. Dr. Esam Al-Kurdi, and Prof. Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Saifi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Alexandria University, during which they discussed aspects of cooperation between Al-Ahgaff University and Alexandria University particularly the Faculty of Commerce. It was agreed to sign a scientific and cultural cooperation agreement between the two universities.

 The Conference concluded its work on Friday (April 27th) by reading the final communiqué of the conference.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Sadiq Omar Maknoun has left the country for the Arab Republic of Egypt to attend the conference and visit some Egyptian universities to conclude agreements of scientific and cultural cooperation with them.

The University of Al-Ahgaff is deemed a distinguished university at the local, regional and Arab levels.
