The Chancellor of Al-Ahgaff University meets with the Indonesian Ambassador to Oman and Yemen Muhammad Erzan Johan

An evening session was held at the house of Al-Habib Alawi bin Abdul Rahman Al-Attas, member of the Board of Trustees of Al-Ahgaff University, in which the Chancellor of Al-Ahgaff University, Professor Abdullah bin Muhammad Baharon, met with the Indonesian Ambassador to Yemen and Oman Muhammad Erzan Johan.

 

In the session, the two parties discussed many common issues, where the Chancellor of the University welcomed the Indonesian Ambassador, thanking him for this visit.

 

For his part, the ambassador thanked the University Chancellor for his warm reception, expressing his great pride at Al-Ahgaff University, as it was and still represents a main destination for Indonesian students who come to it every year to study, where they sensed the seriousness, proficiency and attention to students in their educational path.

 

The ambassador invited Al-Ahgaff University for cultural exchange and sending Yemeni students to study in Indonesian universities and to build bridges of cooperation between the two countries, and expressed his readiness to overcome difficulties in order to achieve this.

 

The meeting also touched on the importance of cooperation between the University and the State of Indonesia in the field of research related to the scientific and agricultural aspect, and the study of the possibility of developing the relationship in that aspect to serve both parties.

 

The conversation between the two parties dealt with many important topics related to the Indonesian social, economic and educational aspect and the extent of the State's efforts to address it and develop solutions for it and its interest in using modern scientific methods that would change the situation for the better. The University Chancellor predicted a large and escalating Indonesian economic growth that qualifies it to be one of the major economies in the world over the next twenty years.

 

In his speech, the Indonesian ambassador emphasized the Indonesian state's interest in continuous development in all scientific and technological aspects, as this resulted in a remarkable development in the technical aspect and the use of the Internet service, which facilitated people to deal with each other to the extent that people began to carry out their needs through it without the need to move or travel, as the government launched Indonesian satellite for the development of the field of communications and the scientific and technological aspects.

The two parties agreed on the strength of the relationship between the two countries and their agreement in much of the common culture, which indicates the strength of the link between Hadhramaut and the Indonesian State.

 

The meeting with the Indonesian ambassador was attended by Harry Yulianto, the Indonesian consul in Amman and Yemen, Muhammad Alwin, an official in the Indonesian embassy's section in Amman, and Riza Abdul Razzaq, an official in the education and culture department at the embassy.

The meeting was also attended from the university side, Dr. Abdullah Awad bin Sumait, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Mr. Zain bin Aqil, Head of Expatriate Affairs at the university, Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al-Saqqaf, Head of the Department of Jurisprudence and its Fundamentals, Dr. Mustafa bin Sumait, Head of the Graduate Studies Department, and Dr. Arafat Al-Maqdi, Head of the Department of Sharia and Law.
