Under the patronage of Professor Abdullah bin Muhammad Baharoon, President of Al-Ahgaff University, the University’s Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation organized the first workshop entitled “College of Distance Education: Vision - Mission - Goals” on Monday and Tuesday, June 3-4, 2024 in the Electronic Library in the University Presidency building. The workshop targeted about (52) participants from the university’s teaching staff, including (28) participants from the Faculty of Sharia and Law in Trim who participated via the Zoom video communication program.

The university's vice president, professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon, welcomed everyone and stressed the significance of the workshop's hosting in order to secure the college's initial license. During his speech, he urged the audience to actively engage in helping to develop the college's vision, mission, and goals in the context of the university's vision, mission, and goals.

Dr. Hamza Al-Aidaroos, the University's Deputy Dean of Quality and Academic Accreditation and the workshop facilitator, went over the workshop's subjects, which included defining the term "distant learning" and its basic vocabulary. In addition, he presented the attendees with several models of messages and visions and provided a thorough description of the abilities involved in creating the vision, mission, and goals. Considering the comparable objectives of domestic and foreign universities, with the intention of developing and debating the college's vision, mission, and objectives.

Dr. Al-Aidaroos facilitated the workshop and accomplished its objective by combining the Focus Groups Discussion approach with the Brainstorming methodology. Throughout the two days of the workshop, participants presented interventions and had discussions after being divided into eleven groups, each with four to six people. The participants created a vision, mission, and goals for the College of Distance Education as the program came to an end.

Prof. Ahmed Saleh Khured, Dean of Quality and Academic Accreditation at the University, deans of faculties and a number of heads of scientific departments at the university attended the workshop.
