Academic System

The Faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences follows a semester-based academic system, in which the credit unit serves as the basis for assigning relative weight to courses and evaluating students' academic performance, in accordance with the following general regulations:

• The language of instruction is English, although the University Council may approve the use of another language for teaching certain courses.
• The undergraduate program consists of four academic years.
• The academic year is divided into two independent semesters, each lasting 16 weeks, excluding the final examination period. The University Council determines the beginning and end of each academic year.
• The number of courses registered in each semester may not exceed eight courses.
• The Faculty Handbook specifies the academic study plan, including the courses offered, their distribution across academic years and semesters, and the number of credit hours allocated to each course.
• The content of each course is determined by a decision of the University Council based on the recommendation of the relevant department and the approval of the Faculty Council.
• A student may graduate only after successfully completing all required courses and passing the comprehensive examination.
