The Department of Information Technology at the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences, Al-Ahgaff University, held a meeting yesterday, Monday, with the department’s Activities Committee, chaired by Dr. Adnan bin Yahya, Head of the Department, to discuss the plan for activities and events scheduled for the 2026–2027 academic year. The meeting was part of the department’s efforts to promote student engagement and expand opportunities for participation in scientific, cultural, and social activities.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammed Al-Bouri, Director of University Activities, and Mr. Hussein Balfaqih, the department’s coordinator. Participants discussed several aspects of the activity plan, reviewed ideas and proposals for upcoming events, and explored mechanisms for implementing and organizing them in ways that achieve the desired objectives and address students’ interests and aspirations.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of diversifying programs and events that complement the educational process, helping students develop their skills, nurture their talents, foster initiative and teamwork, and provide opportunities for them to showcase their abilities and creativity across various fields.

Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation between the Department of Information Technology, the University Activities Administration, and other relevant entities. They stressed the need to work as one team to develop and implement high-quality, purposeful programs that reinforce the role of university activities as an important component of the educational process and as a means of developing students’ personalities and enhancing their scientific, practical, and social capabilities.
