The Faculty of Women at Al-Ahgaff University celebrated on Sunday the graduation of its 26th cohort of female students majoring in Islamic Studies and Computer Science, under the patronage of Professor Abdullah Mohammed Baharoon, President of the University.
The ceremony opened with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech delivered by one of the graduates on behalf of her fellow students. She expressed her deep gratitude to the university and faculty administration and to the faculty members who had supported and guided them throughout their years of study.
The speaker expressed her cohort’s pride in belonging to a field of study that contributes to strengthening Islamic values and raising awareness, noting that graduation marks the beginning of a new stage of giving, contribution, and service to society.
Professor Abdullah Mohammed Baharoon delivered an address in which he expressed his happiness at seeing this group of female students successfully complete their academic journey. He highlighted the pivotal role of women in building society and emphasized that knowledge and education are fundamental pillars for building cohesive families and raising generations capable of contributing to the advancement of the nation.
He noted that Al-Ahgaff University places particular emphasis on the education of women, based on its belief in the importance of the role of educated and aware women in shaping the future, contributing effectively to the development of their communities, and preserving their Islamic identity and values.
He also stressed the importance of continuing their pursuit of knowledge and maintaining communication with the university, particularly for students from East Asian and African countries, in a way that contributes to strengthening academic cooperation and promoting the values of moderation and balanced understanding in their communities.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the university leadership was honored in recognition of its continued efforts in serving the educational process. Outstanding students and top graduates were also honored with certificates and commemorative shields, amid an atmosphere of pride and joy among the families of the graduates and their fellow students.
The ceremony was attended by Vice President of the University, Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon; Secretary-General of the University, Engineer Faiz bin Shamla; Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Mr. Alawi Abdulrahman Al-Attas; as well as a number of faculty members, parents, and the mothers of the graduates.
