The Faculty of Women at Al-Ahgaff University held an awareness lecture yesterday, Tuesday, entitled “Managing Academic Stress and Psychological Balance,” delivered by Dr. Susan Baghawita. The lecture was organized as part of the University’s commitment to supporting the psychological well-being of its female students, with the aim of enhancing female students’ ability to deal positively with the demands of university life and academic pressures.
The lecture addressed the concept of academic stress and its main symptoms and indicators, explaining the difference between normal academic stress that may accompany studying and examinations and stress that develops into a problem requiring attention and appropriate management.
Dr. Baghawita also presented a number of practical methods and techniques for managing time and reducing stress, including the Pomodoro Technique, which helps organize study and rest periods and improve concentration and productivity.
The lecture also discussed common mistakes and practices that may increase academic stress, while providing a set of guidelines to help students develop more balanced study habits and maintain a healthy balance between academic demands and psychological well-being.
At the conclusion of the lecture, Dr. Susan Baghawita administered an awareness questionnaire designed to help students identify indicators of academic stress and assess its impact on them, thereby raising awareness of the importance of caring for psychological well-being and addressing academic stress at an early stage.
This event is part of Al-Ahgaff University’s efforts to provide a balanced university environment that goes beyond academic achievement to also promote psychological awareness and personal skills among its female students.
