The Faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences at Al-Ahgaff University held yesterday, Monday, a welcome and orientation meeting for newly admitted female students for the 2026–2027 academic year who have been accepted into the Information Technology program. The meeting was part of the Faculty’s efforts to prepare students for university life and familiarize them with their academic and organizational pathways from the beginning of their educational journey.

Dr. Hamza Al-Aidarous, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences, expressed his pleasure at welcoming the students to the Faculty, wishing them an academic year filled with success and excellence. He emphasized the importance of hard work and perseverance and encouraged them to make the most of the various educational and training opportunities provided by the University and the Faculty, contributing to the development of their academic and professional capabilities.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Bouri, Director of the English Language Unit and Director of the University Activities Department, also spoke about the importance of strengthening the students’ language skills and enabling them to effectively use scientific references and sources in English, thereby supporting their academic studies across various specializations.

Ms. Asmaa bin Al-Sheikh Abubakr, Head of the Department of Information Technology, gave an introductory presentation on the Information Technology program, covering its courses and the diverse applications it offers students in light of the rapid developments in the technology sector and digital transformation. She also highlighted the need to enhance students’ capabilities in various areas of modern knowledge and skills.

Ms. Khadija Batarfi, the Faculty Registrar, explained a number of regulations and procedures governing the educational process, including the attendance and absence system, the mechanisms for calculating grades, examinations and exam rounds, as well as academic conduct requirements and cases of cheating and the penalties for them.

The meeting witnessed active participation from the newly admitted students, who were given the opportunity to raise questions and inquiries concerning the study program, university regulations, and the nature of academic life. All their questions were addressed by the relevant specialists.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Hanaa Al-Shatiri, Registrar of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences, Women’s Section.
