Al-Ahgaff University Participates in Seminar on “Quality Standards in Distance Education”

Al-Ahgaff University participated yesterday, Wednesday, in a scientific seminar organized by Al-Wasatiyyah Sharia University under the title “Quality Standards in Distance Education,” with the participation of a number of academics and professionals interested in distance education and academic quality.

Dr. Ahmed Salem bin Aqeel, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Distance Education at Al-Ahgaff University, represented the University at the seminar. He delivered a presentation entitled “Key Quality Challenges in Distance Education,” addressing the major challenges involved in implementing quality standards in this mode of education.

In his presentation, Dr. Ahmed highlighted a number of challenges, including technological infrastructure and disparities in access to education, redesigning courses to suit the digital learning environment, ensuring student engagement, measuring learning outcomes, and diversifying assessment and monitoring tools to ensure academic integrity.

He also addressed the importance of continuous technical support, institutional governance, data and results reliability, sustainable funding, and cybersecurity as key pillars for ensuring the quality and sustainability of distance education.

Al-Ahgaff University’s participation in the seminar reflects its commitment to contributing to academic events and discussions, exchanging expertise and experiences, and supporting the development of higher education and the enhancement of quality standards in distance education.
