The Department of Islamic Studies at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Al-Ahgaff University, is one of the principal academic departments that advances the University's mission of serving Islamic scholarship and developing the character of the conscious Muslim individual—one who combines a profound understanding of Islamic texts with an awareness of the realities and needs of society. The Department was established to serve as a beacon of knowledge that brings together authenticity and renewal, preparing qualified graduates in the fields of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, Islamic Creed and Thought, the Prophetic Biography and Islamic History, and the Higher Objectives of Sharia (Maqasid al-Sharia). Graduates are equipped to contribute to Islamic outreach, education, and scientific research and to participate in the advancement of the Ummah, grounded in the authentic teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah. The Department also seeks to instill spiritual and ethical values in its students, develop their research and critical-thinking abilities, and train them to address intellectual and social issues through an informed scholarly approach inspired by the methodology of the righteous predecessors while remaining responsive to contemporary intellectual challenges.
