Peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad, sent as a mercy to the worlds, and upon his family and all his Companions. The Department of Qur'an and Its Sciences at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Al-Ahgaff University, is a scholarly beacon dedicated to serving the Book of Allah through its memorization, interpretation, recitation, and contemplation, guided by the principles of moderation and balance and an enlightened understanding rooted in the authentic scholarly heritage of the Ummah and the noble objectives of Islamic Sharia. The Department aims to graduate students who are proficient in the sciences of the Qur'an and Qira'at, combining authenticity with contemporary knowledge and mastering the arts of Qur'anic recitation alongside the skills of academic research and scholarly analysis. Its graduates are prepared to serve as Qur'an-based educators and advocates, teachers in Qur'an memorization circles, and researchers in Islamic academic institutions within Yemen and beyond. Since its establishment, the Department has been committed to developing an integrated academic environment through courses that encompass the sciences of Qur'anic exegesis, Qira'at, Qur'anic inimitability, Rasm al-Mushaf (Qur'anic orthography), and Dabt al-Mushaf (Qur'anic textual notation). Special attention is also given to students' professional development in teaching and presentation skills, as well as to employing modern technologies in the service of the Book of Allah. We ask Almighty Allah to bless these efforts and make this Department a constructive pillar within the blessed institution of Al-Ahgaff University, and to enable it to graduate memorizers and scholars who will serve as beacons of guidance for the Ummah.
