Faculty of Islamic Sciences

The Faculty of Islamic Sciences at Al-Ahgaff University is dedicated to preparing a generation of scholars and Islamic educators who are academically and ethically qualified to serve their religion, communities, and nation. The Faculty welcomes applications from high school graduates from within the Republic of Yemen and abroad, in accordance with the University's general admission requirements.

Faculty Departments

The Faculty comprises two main departments:

  1. Department of Islamic Studies – dedicated to the study of Sharia, Islamic creed, Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, Islamic outreach, and Islamic education.

  2. Department of Qur'an and Its Sciences (Qira'at) – dedicated to the study of the Holy Qur'an, its interpretation and sciences, the rules of Tajweed, and various Qur'anic recitations.


First: Minimum Admission Requirement

Applicants must have obtained a minimum overall score of 60% in the General Secondary School Certificate, whether in the scientific or literary sections. All applicants are required to undergo admission tests and personal interviews designed to assess and select the most qualified candidates.


Second: Duration of Study

The duration of study at the Faculty is four years, divided into eight academic semesters. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Islamic Sciences in their respective specialization.


Third: Admission Requirements

  1. Successful completion of the General Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent from specialized secondary schools.

  2. Passing the admission test and personal interview.

  3. Commitment to full-time and regular study.

  4. Meeting the minimum secondary school grade requirement.

  5. Being medically fit.

  6. Payment of the prescribed tuition fees.

  7. Fulfillment of any specific requirements for the chosen specialization.

  8. Submission of the application within the designated admission period.


Fourth: Required Registration Documents

  1. Two certified copies of the General Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, duly authenticated.

  2. A completed admission and registration application form.

  3. A copy of the national identification card or family card for Yemeni applicants, or a copy of the passport or residence permit for non-Yemeni applicants.

  4. Eight recent passport-sized photographs (4 × 6 cm).

  5. Presentation of the original documents for verification during final registration.
