The Department of Law distinguishes itself by combining authenticity with contemporary approaches through an integrated academic methodology that brings together Sharia disciplines—including Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence), legal maxims, and Maqasid al-Sharia (Objectives of Islamic Law)—alongside the study of the Arabic language and comparative positive law. The Department adopts Islamic Sharia as a fundamental reference for analyzing legal texts and formulating legal provisions. Its aim is to develop the jurist-lawyer by preparing graduates who combine the skills of jurisprudential analysis with modern legal methodology, enabling them to address contemporary developments and complex legal challenges. The Department also focuses on emerging issues such as artificial intelligence and the digital economy, examining them in relation to both Sharia rulings and positive law. Through this approach, it seeks to prepare specialized legal professionals capable of innovation in legal reasoning and keeping pace with societal developments within the framework of Islamic Sharia and modern legal systems.
