On Wednesday evening, 14 October 2026, the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Ahgaff University in Tarim participated in the activities of the 12th Cultural Week, organized by the Sawaed Al-Khair Forum in the Al-Radheema and Khaylah neighborhoods under the slogan “The Best of Us Is Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.” The Faculty’s contribution was a scholarly lecture delivered by Sayyid Mohammed bin Omar Al-Mashhour, Friday sermon preacher at the Faculty of Sharia Mosque in Tarim and a lecturer at the Faculty.
The lecture explored the importance of contemplating the Holy Qur’an and understanding its objectives as a means of knowing and glorifying Allah Almighty, and its connection to knowing the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who explains the Book of Allah and serves as the practical example of implementing its guidance. It also emphasized the importance of learning about the Prophet’s physical characteristics and noble character, drawing on the book Our Master Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: His Praiseworthy Characteristics and Noble Qualities by Sheikh Abdullah Sirajuddin. The lecture highlighted how this knowledge strengthens faith in the Prophet, encourages following his example and deepens love for him, while keeping his image firmly rooted in people’s hearts and reviving their souls through remembrance of his virtues.
The lecture further stressed the importance of this knowledge in protecting young people from being dazzled by passing role models and in reinforcing the principle that love for Allah Almighty and His Messenger ﷺ must take precedence over all worldly attachments. It also highlighted the immense blessing Allah bestowed upon the Muslim community through the Prophet’s mission, his exalted status, and his intercession on the Day of Resurrection.
Regarding the development of young Muslims’ character, the lecture focused on establishing servitude to Allah Almighty as the foundation of identity, the source of honor, and the purpose of human existence, as well as its role in guiding personal choices and maintaining steadfastness in values. It also highlighted the Prophet’s guidance in recognizing young people’s abilities, directing their energies, and entrusting responsibilities to qualified individuals. Examples from the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, illustrated how their diverse talents enabled them to complement one another’s roles, with each person using the gifts bestowed by Allah to serve the religion and draw closer to Him, without excluding anyone or wasting their potential.
This participation reflects the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Ahgaff University’s commitment to scholarly engagement and Islamic outreach, contributing to the dissemination of Islamic knowledge and the promotion of religious and educational awareness within the community. It also underscores the importance of connecting young people with the noble Prophetic biography as an integrated model for developing individuals and shaping conscious Muslim character.
