The Activities Committee at the College of Women, Al-Ahgaff University, organized an awareness lecture on Tuesday titled “Expatriation and Self-Development”, delivered by Dr. Suzan Saeed Baghawita.
The lecture addressed the concept of expatriation from multiple perspectives, viewing it not only as a geographical or spatial experience but also as a psychological state that an individual may experience even within their own environment. Dr. Baghawita emphasized strategies for overcoming fluctuations that affect mental and physical well-being, highlighting the importance of self-development as a means to confront challenges, achieve personal growth, and succeed in diverse contexts.
She further shed light on real-life experiences and inspiring examples of individuals who managed to transform expatriation into opportunities for learning and distinction, underlining the vital role of willpower and self-awareness in overcoming obstacles and building an independent identity.
The event witnessed strong engagement and interaction from the attendees, who enriched the discussion with their questions and reflections. This lecture comes as part of the Faculty of Women’s Activities Committee’s commitment to organizing impactful programs that address the intellectual and psychological needs of students, supporting both their academic journey and personal development.
