In a joyful and dazzling ceremony, and in the presence of the President of Al-Ahgaff University, Prof. Abdullah bin Muhammad Baharoon, the Faculty of Sharia and Law held on, Thursday evening, 22^nd June 2023, a farewell and honoring ceremony for the students of the twenty-fourth batch of the faculty, whose number reached 95 students from five different nationalities.

The ceremony, which was attended by Habib Alawi bin Abd al-Rahman al-Attas, Professor Muhammad Abdullah al-Saqqaf, member of the University’s Board of Trustees, Sheikh Muhammad bin Ali al-Khatib, teacher of Shafi’i jurisprudence at the faculty, all heads of departments, teachers, employees, and a large number of students’ parents, guests and students. The ceremony began with the recitation of fragrant verses from the Holy Quran and hadith from the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.

After that, the student Ali Yahya Al-Saqqaf delivered the graduates’ speech, thanking the officials of the university and the faculty for what they had done in order to graduate this batch of students of knowledge.

After that, the Dean of the Faculty, His Eminence Dr. Abdullah Awadh bin Sumait, delivered the faculty’s speech, congratulating the students on the joy of their graduation, and expressing the joy and pleasure that spread to everyone with this celebration of the graduation from the academic stage in the faculty for the students and their presence in the land of knowledge and scholars, Tarim.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty confirmed that the Faculty is making every effort to facilitate the mission of students in their quest for knowledge, and that all members of the Faculty, regardless of their responsibilities, spare no effort in serving students of knowledge and overcoming obstacles in front of them, despite the circumstances that the nation in general and our country in particular are going through, stating that the Faculty is in the process of opening new disciplines in various fields and intends to use the electronic platform in distance education.

The Dean of the Faculty concluded his speech with several commandments to the students, advising them first to fear God Almighty, to observe the sanctity of the knowledge they have learned, to convey it, and to be able to carry the trust in the benefit of the nation and the societies to which they will return.

After that, the ceremony listened to the speech of the University President, Professor Abdullah Muhammad Baharoon, who congratulated the students at the beginning of his speech on the occasion of their graduation.

Speaking about the greatness of the name that the batch took for it, which is the Guardianship of Morals, the Guardianship of the Family, which makes them face a great challenge to preserve the family and Islamic morals in the face of multiple attacks to destroy the family and its morals.

In his speech, the President of the University reviewed the historical gradation of the various ideas and ideologies that Western infidel institutions call for, establish and want to spread in our societies after they became wide spread in their societies to the extent that such ideas became protected by law in many of these countries.

The President of the University stated that the ideas began with the idea of discontent with the large family, then abandoning the parents and placing them in shelters for the elderly, to develop into the idea of discontent with the large number of children under the pretext of giving women the right to be like men to rebel against their father and brothers under the name of equality between men and women. The woman became unsupported in all its conditions and the names of street children appeared to evolve into the idea of coercing children to take deviant paths and abnormal trends.

The President of the University directed the students to pay attention to all these ideas, fight them, and play their role in preserving the family and morals. He also recommended them to preserve the doa’a and zikr in their different conditions.

The President of the University thanked everyone who had a role in graduating this batch. He also thanked the parents of the students for giving the university confidence in the education of their children.

After the University President finished his speech, he was honored by the students, as well as honoring the Dean of the Faculty and the heads of departments in it, and honoring a number of students with distinction and memorization of the Qur’an in the batch.

After that, the ceremony listened to the graduate student, Alawi bin Abi Bakr Al-Shatri, who gave a comprehensive biography to one of the founders of Al-Ahgaff University, Habib Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Shatri, may God Almighty have mercy on him, reviewing his great history and his various efforts in society and his scientific and societal activities in all different directions and that he was a founding member of this university and he assumed the presidency of its board of trustees after the death of the first president, Habib Abdullah bin Mahfouz Al-Haddad, may God Almighty have mercy on him.

The ceremony concluded with honoring all students and handing them certificates and graduation shields by the President of the University and the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, after which memorial photos were taken for the students with the President of the University and all the faculty and staff of the Faculty in a beautiful picture that expresses the magnificence of the scene with the quality of the essence.

At the end of the celebration, everyone ate dinner in an atmosphere of joy and jubilation.

We ask God Almighty, with His grace and generosity, to grant success to the graduate students in their scientific journey, to crown their efforts and patience with goodness, and to fulfill the hopes and intentions of those in charge of the university.
