Al-Ahgaff University Organizes Two Workshops on Artificial Intelligence and Curriculum Description Updates

The Deanship of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation at Al-Ahgaff University organized two scientific workshops on Wednesday, titled:

  1. "Artificial Intelligence: Vision, Mission, Goals, and Learning Outcomes", and
  2. "Curriculum Description Template Approved by the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research."

These workshops are part of the university’s preparatory efforts to launch a new Artificial Intelligence Department within the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, aimed at keeping pace with technological advancements and improving educational outcomes.

In his opening remarks, Professor Ahmed Saleh Khured, Dean of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of utilizing the insights from these workshops in enhancing the university’s academic practices. He noted that the initiative aligns with the Deanship’s ongoing strategy for quality improvement and technological integration.

The sessions were led by Dr. Salem Ahmed Bawadi and Dr. Warda Ahmed Al-Mohamadi. The first workshop focused on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence and the strategic dimensions of incorporating AI technologies in education. Participants discussed the importance of crafting a clear institutional vision and mission in the AI field, and formulating specific objectives and outcomes to guide the development of academic and administrative programs. The session concluded with a draft of the AI program's vision, mission, goals, and learning outcomes.

The second workshop was dedicated to presenting the official course description template adopted by the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for undergraduate programs. It focused on unifying and updating course descriptions to align with modern academic standards and enhance teaching and learning efficiency.

The workshops were attended by a distinguished group of faculty deans, department heads, and faculty members from both Mukalla and Tarim campuses, reflecting the university’s strong commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
