The Vice President of the University, Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon, met yesterday, Monday, with Ambassador Dr. Qasim Muhammad Saghir Bajrfil, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Union of the Comoros to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and Professor at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations in Paris.
The meeting was held via Zoom, and during the meeting, the Ambassador learned about the establishment of Al-Ahgaff University, its scientific faculties, and the great scientific impact of the university's outputs.
The Ambassador conveyed his contentment with the university's strong scientific output, citing its capacity to uphold intellectual integrity and connect it to scholarly advancement.
The ambassador was invited to attend the second international scientific conference, "Hadhramis in East Africa: Integration and Preservation of Identity," in September of next year by the Hadhramaut Research Center, which is affiliated with Al-Ahgaff University, according to the vice president of the university during the meeting.
Because of the significant messages it conveys regarding the importance of Hadhramis in maintaining Islamic identity and the necessity of revitalizing its concept in African countries generally and the Comoros Islands specifically, the ambassador stated his wish to take part in research during this conference.
At the conclusion of the meeting, they talked about how to strengthen their collaboration with Al-Ahgaff University and start a scientific and cultural exchange with other French institutions and national research centers.
It is worth notng that Dr. Qasim Bajrfil holds a PhD in Linguistics and French Literature, has numerous publications, studies, and articles in Arabic and French, and has appeared on numerous international television shows and stations.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hashem Alawi Muqaibel, Legal Advisor at the University and Professor of International Law.
