The delegation from Al-Ahgaff University concluded a multi-day tour to the Republic of Somalia after receiving an invitation from the Union of Somali Students Graduates from Al-Ahgaff University.
The Al-Ahgaff University delegation's itinerary included visits to a number of universities and Sharia institutes in Mogadishu and several other cities, as well as meetings with state leaders and university and religious institute directors. During these meetings, opinions were shared on how to advance scientific and cultural ties in a way that will help the university and Somalian educational institutions expand their collaborative efforts. Numerous memoranda of understanding and agreements were reached.
The delegation also met with numerous professors who graduated from Al-Ahgaff University, who hold high positions in the state and society, and have helped to bring about peace and social coexistence. They expressed their happiness with the visit, and expressing the interest the university pays its graduates after they leave the university study through the Alumni Unit, wishing the university continued success.
On the last day of the visit, Professor Abdullah Muhammad Baharoon, President of Al-Ahgaff University, held a meeting via video technology (ZOOM) attended by the visiting delegation of Al-Ahgaff University. From the Somali side, it was attended by the Deputy Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, His Excellency Sharif Saleh Sharif Al-Jilani, Sheikh Mahmoud Abdul-Bari, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Somali Scholars, Abdullah Maalim Noor, Vice President of the Somali Graduates Association and Chairman of the Union of Sharia Institutes, Mr. Osman Ali Aidarus Al-Nadhiri, Sheikh Yassin Sheikh Abdul-Wahhab, Vice President of the Ahl al-Sunnah Wal-Jama'ah Association, Sheikh of the Salihiya School, and a number of university graduates.
Professor Baharoon, the president of Al-Ahgaff University, talked about the Somali students who were qualified to work for reform, construction, and enlightenment in their society because they were exemplary in their moral behaviour, interactions with the university's faculty and leadership, academic excellence, and learning interest.
The university's president conveyed his sincere gratitude to the chairman of the Supreme Council of Somali Scholars, the deputy minister of endowments and religious affairs, and all the other cadres for the welcoming reception, kind hospitality, and facilities extended to the university delegation. He stated that he plans to travel to Somalia and meet with them soon.
The meeting ended with a focus on putting the visit's results into practice in the near future, developing it in both scientific and practical areas, and strengthening ties between the institution and its graduates.
