The delegation of Al-Ahgaff University signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation with Imam Al-Shafi'i University during its visit to the Republic of Somalia. The agreement stated that the two universities would exchange academic and scientific expertise to further their respective interests and create curricula and future plans in the near future.

The memorandum was signed by the delegation of Al-Ahgaff University, which included Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Al-Batati, a faculty member at the university, and Mr. Hamza Abdullah Baharoon, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, and on behalf of Imam Al-Shafi'i University, the university president, Dr. Abdul Qadir Sheikh Ismail Muhammad Farah.
