The Faculty of Distance Education at Al-Ahgaff University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday with Al-Junaid Islamic Institute in the United Republic of Tanzania, aiming to strengthen cooperation in the field of university distance education and expand access to the University's academic programs for students in Tanzania.

The MoU was signed on behalf of Al-Ahgaff University by Mr. Zain Salem Bin Aqeel, Dean of the Faculty of Distance Education, while Mr. Sameer Dhulfiqar Ramadan, Director of Al-Junaid Islamic Institute in Zanzibar, signed on behalf of the Institute. The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Sadiq Omar Maknoon, Vice President of the University, who commended the initiative and emphasized the importance of establishing educational partnerships that extend the University's academic programs to students in different countries while maintaining high standards of quality and academic accreditation.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two institutions will cooperate in recruiting and nominating students for enrolment in the Faculty of Distance Education's academic programs. The Institute will also provide administrative support related to student admission and registration. In addition, Al-Junaid Islamic Institute will serve as an approved examination centre, administering examinations in accordance with the academic regulations and procedures of Al-Ahgaff University.

Mr. Zain Salem Bin Aqeel stated that the agreement forms part of the faculty's strategic plan to expand its international partnerships, enabling it to provide high-quality educational services to students while maintaining the University's established academic and administrative standards.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed their hope that the memorandum would mark the beginning of a productive partnership that would enhance higher education opportunities for students in the United Republic of Tanzania and further support Al-Ahgaff University's mission of advancing knowledge and building effective international academic partnerships.
