The Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Ahgaff University in Tarim organized an educational and da'wah field trip for its students on 9 July 2026 (24 Muharram 1448 AH), with the participation of 65 students from various academic levels. The trip was supervised by Dr. Alawi Salem Abu Fatim, Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Bin Al-Sheikh Abu Bakr Bin Salim, and Mr. Alawi Mohammed Balfaqih, as part of the Faculty's educational programs aimed at integrating sound Islamic scholarship, spiritual development, and practical da'wah training.
The program included visits to several of Hadhramout's renowned centers of Islamic learning, including Al-Husaysah, Taris, Al-Ghurfah, Al-Hazm, Shibam, Hawtat Imam Ahmad Bin Zayn Al-Habshi, and Dhi Asbah. During the tour, students visited mosques, traditional Islamic institutes (ribats), heritage libraries, and historic cemeteries. They also benefited from scholarly gatherings and educational guidance, attended sessions of dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and traditional litanies (awrad), and participated in night prayers (Qiyam al-Layl).
As part of the program's practical da'wah component, several students delivered short religious talks following the Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr prayers, as well as after the Friday prayer, providing them with valuable experience in public preaching and community engagement.
The program concluded with attendance at a number of scholarly assemblies, where participants received ijazahs (traditional scholarly authorizations) in various classical texts and narrated works. The experience provided a spiritually enriching environment that broadened the students' knowledge while strengthening their connection with the scholars of Hadhramout and its rich scholarly and da'wah heritage.
This field trip forms part of the Faculty of Sharia and Law's ongoing academic and outreach activities, reflecting its commitment to preparing students who combine sound Islamic scholarship, strong moral and spiritual character, effective da'wah skills, and a deep sense of service to society.
