The Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Ahgaff University in Tarim participated on Monday, 20 July 2026 (6 Safar 1448 AH) in the scientific conference entitled "Minhaj al-Talibin: The Text, Methodology, and Scientific Discourses" organized by Islah Al-Uloom Al-Arabia College in Kerala, India. The faculty took part remotely via Google Meet as part of the ongoing academic collaboration between the two institutions.

The faculty's contribution featured a distinguished group of academic staff who delivered specialized lectures on Minhaj al-Talibin by Imam Al-Nawawi, addressing a range of topics related to Islamic legal methodology, including fatwa (Islamic legal verdicts), legal maxims, technical terminology, and the opinions of classical jurists.

Prof. Mustafa Hamed Bin Sumait presented a lecture entitled "The Relationship Between Fatwa and Minhaj al-Talibin," while Dr. Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Saqqaf delivered a presentation entitled "The Role of Legal Maxims in Developing Juristic Skills Through Minhaj al-Talibin."

Dr. Arafat Abdulrahman Al-Maqdi also presented a lecture entitled "Clarifying Technical Terms and Ambiguous Expressions in Minhaj al-Talibin," while Mr. Hassan Salem Bafadhl delivered a presentation entitled "Understanding the Juristic Schools Through the Text of Al-Minhaj."

The presentations examined several scholarly and methodological dimensions of Minhaj al-Talibin, highlighting its contribution to the development of Islamic legal reasoning, the cultivation of juristic skills, the clarification of technical terminology, and the understanding of the various schools of Islamic jurisprudence. They also underscored the enduring significance of this classical text in both academic study and contemporary legal research.

The faculty's participation reflects Al-Ahgaff University's commitment to strengthening its academic presence, encouraging faculty engagement in international conferences and scholarly forums, and expanding opportunities for academic cooperation and knowledge exchange with educational institutions in Yemen and abroad, thereby contributing to the preservation of the Islamic legal heritage and the advancement of scholarly research.
