The Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Ahgaff University held a general guidance session for its students at the Faculty Mosque on Monday, 10 Rabi' al-Thani 1448 AH, corresponding to 21 September 2026, in anticipation of the first monthly examinations of the 2026–2027 academic year. The session aimed to remind students of the virtue and importance of knowledge, the proper etiquette and moral conduct of students of knowledge, the importance of putting knowledge into practice, maintaining their prayers, and preparing well for the examinations.

The session opened with a presentation by student Ishar Firdous, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by student Shaaban Habib. A number of the Faculty’s scholars and professors then delivered guidance addresses according to the program prepared for the session.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Saqqaf delivered an address entitled “A Reminder of the Virtue and Importance of Knowledge,” in which he discussed the status and significance of knowledge and the responsibility that comes with seeking it, particularly the responsibility to put it into practice and remain committed to its principles. He urged students to appreciate the honor of the path they have chosen, make the most of their years of study in acquiring beneficial knowledge, and develop themselves both academically and morally, rather than limiting their studies merely to passing examinations.

Dr. Saqqaf Al-Aidaroos then delivered an address entitled “A Reminder of the Conduct and Ethics of Students of Knowledge.” He emphasized the importance of combining academic learning with good manners, sound character, and discipline, noting that the effects of knowledge should be reflected in a student’s interactions and conduct, including respect for teachers and fellow students. He also stressed the importance of seriousness, time management, and avoiding anything that distracts students from their academic and educational goals.

Dr. Mustafa bin Sumait also spoke on “A Reminder of Putting Knowledge into Practice and Preparing for Examinations.” He pointed out that the fruits of knowledge are realized through putting it into practice, urging students to combine diligent study with sincere reliance on Allah, organize their time, prepare for examinations early, and avoid procrastination. He also emphasized maintaining prayers and fulfilling the duties that help students of knowledge remain steadfast and attain success throughout their educational journey.

The addresses were followed by contributions from the students, who were given an opportunity to participate and benefit from the guidance of the Faculty’s scholars in an educational atmosphere aimed at raising their motivation and strengthening their sense of responsibility ahead of the first monthly examinations.

The session concluded with an emphasis on continuing to work hard and strive diligently, maintaining prayer and good character, and benefiting from knowledge by putting it into practice. The participants prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the students success, guidance, and achievement in their examinations and academic journey.
