Researcher Muhammad Woldan bin Abdulhakim from the Republic of Indonesia has been awarded a Master’s degree from the College of Graduate Studies at Al-Ahgaff University for his thesis titled:
“The Ruling on Marrying a Fornicatress and the Lineage of a Child Born out of Wedlock – A Comparative Jurisprudential Study.”
The researcher focused on an important issue frequently encountered in Muslim societies, discussing its negative impact on the community, the fate of the child born from such an act, and the Islamic rulings regarding the punishment of the man and woman involved in fornication.
In his research, he adopted the descriptive method to explain the relevant terms and concepts, as well as the inductive method to examine evidence and scholarly opinions on the subject.
The researcher recommended that authorities and decision-makers intensify efforts to monitor and restrict media content that promotes immorality, while encouraging the spread of virtue and adherence to Islamic rulings related to adultery. He also emphasized the importance of treating children born out of wedlock with respect and dignity to ensure healthy social integration, and urged individuals to repent and avoid unethical behavior.
