On Tuesday, March 22nd, the Alumni Affairs Unit, in cooperation and coordination with the Faculty of Administration and Economics, held a lecture entitled "The Deterioration of the Yemeni Exchange Rate and Its Impact on the Purchase Prices of Oil Derivatives" presented by trainer Saleh Abdul Karim Afif, Financial Director of the Yemeni Oil Company, Coastal Hadhramout and a graduate of the Faculty of Administration and Economics, Accounting Department, the seventh batch, which was held in the Kuwaiti Electronic Library.
At the beginning, the members of the Alumni Affairs Unit received Mr. Saleh Abdul Karim Afif in the Alumni Affairs Office, in the presence of the Secretary-General, Eng. Fayez Ahmed bin Shamla. The most important work carried out by the unit, its objectives and future plans were explained.
The lecture began with a welcome speech from the head of the unit, Dr. Hashem Alawi Muqaibel, in which he thanked Mr. Saleh for allocating the time to perform the lecture and share his practical experience with the students.
Then the head of the Accounting Department and the representative of the Graduate Affairs Unit at the Faculty of Administration and Economics, Mr. Ahmed Munir Al-Tamimi, gave a speech in which he thanked Mr. Saleh and urged the students to pay attention to the lecture and benefit from it because of it impacts their practical life, especially for fourth-level students who are coming to the labor market, as academic studies are not enough without practical experiences and courses.
The trainer began the lecture by mentioning the reputation of the graduates of Al-Ahgaff University and its role in the labor market, and that this position comes due to the quality of education and the interest of the Al-Ahgaff students to develop themself through courses, discussions and knowledge.
He spoke about the importance of the Yemeni Oil Company and its business, and the mechanism for receiving offers and pricing policies for petroleum products of all kinds, bearing in mind that the currency used in accounting transactions is the Yemeni currency.
He talked about the most important sources of supply, the obstacles facing the company, and the most important accounting methods and programs that an accounting graduate needs in this type of sector.
During the lecture, he talked about the most important information that consumers need to know about the oil company and its services.
At the end of the lecture, questions and inquiries were received.
The head of the unit, Dr. Hashem Alawi Muqaibel, presented a certificate of appreciation in the name of the Unit and the Faculty to the trainer, Mr. Saleh Abdul Karim Afif, thanking him for his efforts in making the lecture a success.
Then the trainer, along with the members of the Alumni Affairs Unit, visited the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Sadiq Omar Maknoon.
The lecture was attended by third and fourth level students, the Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Alawi Abdel Qader Al-Aidarous, and Mr. Muhammad Salem Al-Buri, the representative of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the Alumni Affairs Unit, and a number of faculty members.
