On Sunday, the Accounting Department at the Faculty of Administration and Economics, Al-Ahgaff University, held its annual graduation research presentation session for senior students.
Nine student groups presented their research projects using PowerPoint, covering a range of contemporary topics such as digital transformation, financial engineering, artificial intelligence, and reducing financial irregularities in the public sector.
This year’s projects stood out for their diversity and alignment with current developments in accounting and finance, reflecting the department's commitment to integrating theoretical knowledge with real-world applications and staying abreast of global trends.
The discussion panel was chaired by Mr. Alawi Al-Aidaroos, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Nawfal Bashrahil, Head of the Accounting Department, along with several faculty members. The panel expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the research, praising the depth of analysis and practical relevance of the recommendations offered by students.
In his address, the Dean emphasized the university’s strong support for research that tackles pressing challenges in the labor market. He highlighted the faculty’s mission to graduate professionals capable of driving change and equipped with scientific research skills and critical thinking—particularly in light of the digital revolution transforming the accounting profession.
Dr. Nawfal Bashrahil also addressed the students, encouraging them to view themselves as future leaders of the national economy. He urged them to uphold Islamic values and high professional ethics, reminding them that accounting is not merely a numbers-based field, but a discipline rooted in social and national responsibility.
The event concluded with group photos and expressions of optimism about the future. The occasion was marked by appreciation for the faculty’s efforts to align its academic programs with the evolving needs of the industry, reinforcing its role as a leading institution in preparing globally competent accountants.
