In the presence of Al-Habib Alawi bin Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah bin Abu Bakr Al-Attas, Sheikh Muhammad bin Ali Al-Khatib, Dean of the College of Sharia and Law Dr. Abdullah Awadh bin Sumait, and faculty, staff and students.

The Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Ahgaff University celebrated on Wednesday evening the 28th of Rabi’ al-Anwar 1443 corresponding to 3/11/2021 the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet (PBUH), which the faculty celebrates on this day of the month of Rabi’ al-Anwar every year.

The ceremony included the reading of the Mawlid of Samat Al-Durar for the Imam Habib Ali bin Muhammad Al-Habashi, which was interspersed with religious chants and nasheed in Hadrami and Indonesian melodies.

The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Abdullah Awadh bin Sumait, expressed everyone’s joy in this joyful celebration of the memory of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and thanked everyone who had a role in holding the ceremony and its various paragraphs. He also extended the greetings and congratulations of the Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdullah bin Muhammad Baharoun, to everyone on this occasion, apologizing to them for not attending due to an accidental circumstance.

Mr. Ali bin Aidarous Al-Haddad and Dr. Mahmoud Saleh bin Humaid gave two speeches on the Mawlid that expressed joy in the Prophet (PBUH), and the necessity of being guided and following his morals and his life.

In the ceremony, the winning students were honored in the poetry competition held by the Department of Activities and Information at the Faculty for the second year in a row under the title (Poetry Competition in Praise of Khair Al-Bariah), in which the student Muhyiddin bin Ahmed Al-Somali won the first place and the student Sahib Al Bayan bin Ahmed in the second place, and they were honored with a certificate of appreciation and an award, then they recited the two poems to the audience. The student, Muhammad Talib Al-Haddar, also recited a poem in praise of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.

Then the dormitory students were honored in the room cleaning competition, where four rooms won the competition and their students were honored and photos were taken with the Deanship.

Then the ceremony was concluded with supplication and Fatiha and dinner.
