On Wednesday December 8th, the Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Dr. Muhammad Aidha Shabiba, visited the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Ahgaff University in Tarim, where he was received by the Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdullah bin Muhammad Baharoon, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Abdullah Awadh bin Sumait, and a number of the faculty and staff of the faculty.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chancellor of the University thanked Minister Shabiba and his accompanying delegation for his visit to the Faculty, wishing them success in their missions.
The discussion took place between the two parties about seeking knowledge and paying attention to it, where the Chancellor of the University explained to the Minister the university’s approach to its admission of students and its registration system, and the combination of the traditional method and the modern academic method.
The University Chancellor also explained to the minister the academic departments of the Faculty, which include the Department of Sharia, the Department of Sharia and Law, and the Department of Sunnah and its Sciences, with the faculty’s intention to open the Department of Quranic Sciences in its near future plan.
The University Chancellor explained to the Minister of Endowments and Guidance the interest of the Faculty of Sharia and Law in teaching legal sciences and linking them to Sharia subjects so that the students grow up having combined the two aspects and be able to link and compare Sharia and law, which is what the state and society need in the way of their emergence and development.
Minister Shabiba expressed his admiration for the system followed in the faculty and thanked those in charge of it, expressing the ministry's readiness to cooperate with the university in the social and awareness aspects of the community.
For his part, the Assistant Undersecretary for Valley and Desert Affairs, Mr. Abdulhadi Al-Tamimi, praised the excellence, diligence and strong tendency of those in charge of the university in the benefit of the people and the country, and its continuation of distinguished giving under these difficult circumstances, and expressed the readiness of the local authority to cooperate with the university in overcoming the difficulties it faces. As well as arranging with its professors to develop the field of awareness and guidance for the public.
At the end of the meeting, the Chancellor of the University took Minister Shabiba and his accompanying delegation on a tour, during which he toured the Faculty’s facilities and visited its library. During his tour, he met with teachers and students.
Minister Shabiba was accompanied by Mr. Abd al-Hadi al-Tamimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Valley and Desert Affairs, and Dr. Abd al-Nasser al-Khatri, Undersecretary for the Guidance Sector, Mr. Abd al-Karim al-Sheikh, General Director of Hajj Affairs in the Ministry, and Mr. Muhammad Fouad Belfas, Director General of the Office of Endowments and Guidance in the Valley and Desert, Legal Adviser Khaled Howaidi, Director General of Tarim Directorate, and Mr. Abdullah Al-Samiti, Director of the Endowments Office, Tarim Directorate.
