In a majestic gathering and a large attendance and under the slogan (good successors for good predecessors), the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Ahgaff University held on Thursday evening, the first of Dhul-Hijjah 1443 AH corresponding to June 30, 2022, a farewell and honor ceremony on the occasion of the graduation of the twenty-third batch of students of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, who numbered 92 graduates. And the first batch of students of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, who numbered 14 students.

At the ceremony, which was attended by the President of the University, Professor Abdullah bin Muhammad Baharoon, Habib Alawi bin Abdul Rahman Al-Attas, member of the University’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdullah Awadh bin Sumait, Dean of the Faculty, Sheikh Muhammad Ali Al-Khatib, Professor of Shafi’i Jurisprudence at the Faculty, heads of departments at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, its teachers, employees, students and a large gathering of citizens and parents and families. The student Muhammad Damra opened the ceremony with a fragrant recitation of the verses of Holy Quran, followed by the student Muhammad Faqih by reciting two hadiths with a chain of narrators related to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.

After that, the student Ahmed Saad Al-Soqotri delivered the alumni speech in which he expressed, on behalf of the graduate students, great thanks to everyone who contributed to the preparation of this group of distinguished students, starting with the President of the University, Professor Abdullah Muhammad Baharoon, the Dean of the Faculty and all its teachers and employees, thanking them for creating the appropriate conditions in this outstanding educational edifice.

The student Al-Soqotri also talked about the circumstances that they went through during their studies and how they overcame them with patience, diligence and hard work to bring them this blessed moment that they were waiting for to reap the fruits of their studies.

After that, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Abdullah Awadh bin Sumait, gave a speech in which he thanked the University and its President for all the atmosphere it provides for students of knowledge.

The dean of the faculty praised the patience and endurance shown by the students during their receipt of all kinds of sharia sciences at the faculty.

The Dean also explained in his speech that science honors those who have done it right and adhered to it fully, directing the graduate students to be those who took knowledge of their right and to perform their role in a time when the matter was closed to those who did not deserve it from the two departments; Sharia and Sharia and law.

The Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law also announced to the audience the opening of postgraduate studies in the Sharia and Law Department to join the previous scientific departments in the faculty, which were distinguished by their great role in society and their clear impact on life tracks inside and outside the country.

After that, the audience listened to the speech of the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Dr. Samir Muhammad Sabi Al-Zubaidi, who spoke in his speech about the blessing that God bestowed on the students, as he provided them with the blessing of inheriting knowledge and their great role in their reality and society, indicating to them that they will come out to reality, where life will welcome them and offer them temptations to give up their principles and their religion, urging them to be steadfast in dealing with all the temptations that may encounter them.

The university presidency, the deanship, and the heads of departments and departments in the faculty were honored by the graduate students.

After that, the audience listened to the speech of the President of the University, Professor Abdullah Muhammad Baharoon, in which he congratulated the students on their graduation and expressed his happiness at attending their graduation ceremony.

The President of the University recommended the graduate students to preserve their academic career that they received in the faculty, hoping that they will be among those whom the university is proud of, not those of whom it is ashamed.

The president of the university also thanked the sheikhs and professors for their intensive efforts in making the educational process of the faculty a success.

He also thanked the parents of the students who put their trust in the faculty and chose it to be a place for their education and instructed them to help their children by maintaining their integrity and their religious commitment and preservation.

After that, they started honoring the students who have memorized the Holy Qur’an in full, as well as the distinguished students from each section.

The ceremony concluded by honoring all students, dressing them and handing them certificates of appreciation by the university president and the dean of the faculty. Two poems were recited at the ceremony, one of which was delivered by the poet Mansour Bajeri, a graduate of the faculty in the past years.
