The Activities Committee at the Faculty of Women of Al-Ahgaff University, in cooperation with the Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control, organized an awareness lecture on breast cancer in observance of Pink October, held yesterday, Tuesday, at the Sayyida Khadija Hall on the faculty campus in Mukalla.

The lecture, delivered by Dr. Amal Baharmuz, addressed the increasing rates of breast cancer according to recent statistics, highlighting the main risk factors associated with the disease, its symptoms, and effective methods of prevention. Dr. Baharmuz also emphasized the importance of early detection and its crucial role in improving recovery rates and ensuring timely treatment.

In the same context, fourth-year students from the Information Technology Department organized a complementary awareness activity on breast cancer. During the event, several students presented informative talks introducing the disease, discussing prevention strategies, and explaining the symbolism behind the pink ribbon as a global emblem for breast cancer awareness.

At the conclusion of the event, awareness brochures and pink ribbons were distributed to attendees as an expression of solidarity with patients and a reaffirmation of the importance of promoting health awareness across all segments of society.
