The Faculty of Women at Al-Ahgaff University celebrated the graduation of its 25th cohort, comprising 47 students majoring in Islamic Studies, under the generous patronage of Prof. Abdullah Mohammed Baharoon, President of the University.
The ceremony opened with a beautiful recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a heartfelt speech delivered on behalf of the graduating class by one of the students. In her address, she expressed the graduates’ deep gratitude to Prof. Baharoon, the faculty administration, and the faculty members for their continuous support throughout their academic journey.
She also voiced the pride the students feel in belonging to a discipline that reinforces Islamic values and nurtures awareness, emphasizing that graduation marks not the end, but the beginning of a greater mission of service and contribution to society.
In his keynote address, Prof. Abdullah Mohammed Baharoon expressed his pride and joy in witnessing the graduation of this distinguished group of students. He spoke about the vital role of women in shaping society and underscored that empowering women through knowledge and education is foundational to building strong families and raising future generations capable of uplifting the nation.
Prof. Baharoon reaffirmed Al-Ahgaff University’s firm commitment to women’s education, grounded in the belief that an educated and conscious woman is key to shaping a better future. He also highlighted the responsibility placed on women to defend and uphold Islamic values, especially in the face of challenges that seek to undermine the identity and integrity of Muslim women.
He concluded by encouraging the graduates, particularly those from Southeast Asia and Africa, to continue their educational pursuits, stay connected with the university, and actively participate in academic forums that promote Islamic teachings and benefit their communities.
