On Tuesday, February 21, the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science held an open day event for Faculty students.
The day began with a variety of welcoming words from the Secretary General of the University, the Dean of the Faculty and the Head of the IT Department.
The Secretary General of the University, Eng. Fayez Bin Shamla, spoke about the importance of holding such events, which aim to apply the subjects and concepts taught in the department to reality, and provide an opportunity for students to highlight technical and programming talents. He thanked the Deanship of the Faculty, represented by Dr. Hassan Muqaibel and the Head of the Department, Dr. Muhammad Wahdin, for the efforts made to raise the educational level of the Faculty students, calling on the students to take advantage of the times and develop their skills through the continuous application of the subjects taught in the Faculty.
The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Hassan Muqaibel, spoke about the importance of holding such events, which the faculty has been missing for a long time, as the establishment of the open day event was part of the faculty plan for the current academic year and as a continuation of the applied activities programs related to the subjects taught in the faculty. He added that the faculty intends to continue holding the open day for the coming years which is supported by the university presidency represented by the vice president and the secretary general.
The head of the department, Dr. Muhammad Wahdin, spoke about the importance of this event in demonstrating students' programming skills, which is the main goal of studying in the faculty, and as a measuring tool to compare actual projects with projects required in the labor market, encouraging students and urging them to improve their skills required for the labor market.
The first semester top students of the academic year 2022-2023 were honored in the presence of deans of faculties and students.
During the event, projects for six courses were presented made by students from level two, three and four both male and female. The projects’ makers presented an overview of their projects, how to design them, and their characteristics and advantages.
The event was attended by deans of faculties, heads of departments, and members of the faculty and staff.
