Al-Ahgaff University opened the mosque of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, located in the faculty’s building complex in the Aidid neighborhood in the city of Tarim, on the evening of Wednesday, May 29, in the presence of His Eminence Professor Habib Abdullah bin Muhammad Baharoon, President of Al-Ahgaff University, His Eminence Al-Habib Alawi bin Abdul Rahman Al-Attas, member of the university’s Board of Trustees, and His Eminence the scholar and educator Habib Omar bin Muhammad bin Hafeez, Dean of Dar Al-Mustafa for Islamic Studies in Tarim.
At the ceremony, speeches were given by some of the scholars who attended the opening ceremony, in which they praised the impact of Al-Ahgaff University in Yemen and outside Yemen. In the speech delivered by His Eminence Habib Abdullah bin Muhammad Baharoon, President of Al-Ahgaff University, he thanked all attendees for their participation in the university’s celebration of the opening of the Sharia Faculty Mosque, praising the supporters and praying for them. He also reviewed the role of those in charge of the faculty and the mosque, thanking them for their efforts. He also reviewed in his speech the departments of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, explaining the role assigned to each department and hoping that each would play its role in serving the religion and its sciences.
The scholars’ words concluded with the speech of the scholar Habib Omar bin Muhammad bin Salem bin Hafeez, who made it clear that the survival and continuity are for the religion of Allah and His Messenger, and that everything that contradicts them is to disappear and vanish, reviewing the historical stages that the Islamic world has gone through in which the people of truthfulness survived and the people of falsehood vanished. At the end of his speech, he prayed to those in charge of the university and the faculty for success and help from Allah the Almighty.
The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of scholars, VIPs and social figures in the directorate, faculty graduates, and a number of parents of students studying there.
