As part of its visit to the Republic of Somalia, the university delegation, represented by Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Al-Batati, a faculty member at the university, and Mr. Hamza Abdullah Baharoon, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, met at their residence with a number of Somali scholars, preachers and social figures.
They met with a delegation of sheikhs, headed by Sheikh Muhammad Omar Ba Sukuta, Sheikh Musa Mualim Hassan Ainte, Sheikh Yassin Sheikh Abdul Wahab and Abdul Wahid Ibn Sheikh Mahmoud Abdul Bari. The meeting discussed the conditions of Somali students at the university and the admission procedures for Somali students wishing to join the university.
The Somali delegation commended Al-Ahgaff University's scientific and religious message as well as its graduates, which benefited Somali society. Its graduates helped bring about peace and social harmony while holding important positions in the government and society.
The delegation from Al-Ahgaff University, for its part, emphasised the value of the university's Alumni Unit, which is making every effort to get in touch with alumni and give them access to all facilities, including those for Somali graduates, through events and initiatives that improve ties between the university and its alumni. The discussion produced several ideas that would help the institution enroll Somali students, improve its ties with its alumni, and create a network of relationships with Somali universities through the signing of agreements for cultural and scientific cooperation.
