On Tuesday, January 9, a delegation from Al-Ahgaff University, led by Mr. Hamza Abdullah Baharoon, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences and Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Al-Batati, a faculty member arrived in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. The delegation was invited by some Somali universities to visit them and document the scientific relations between Al-Ahgaff University and their institutions.
At the arrival they were received by academic personalities, religious scholars, judges and social figures led by Sharif Saleh Sharif Ali Al -Hassani, Deputy Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, member of the Somali People's Assembly, Dr. Abdul Qadir Sheikh Ismail, President of Imam Al -Shafi’i University in Somalia and President of the African Universities Union and Judge Musa Malik Muhammad, former President Banader Court and Mr. Mohamed Abdel -Rahman, former director of the Office of Parliament, and a member of the Supreme Committee for Elections.
The team from Al-Ahgaff University was welcomed by Deputy Minister and People's Assembly member Al-Sharif Al-Hassani and his colleagues, who praised the university's scientific and educational contributions as well as its role in qualifying Somali students.
Al-Sharif Al-Hassani stressed that the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Somalia seeks to implement many training courses, qualify the preachers and imams of mosques, and provide grants to continue studying at Al -Ahgaff University.
The Al-Ahgaff University delegation, for their part, conveyed to them the greetings of the university's president, Professor Abdullah Muhammad Baharoon, and his deputies, and expressed their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality. They emphasized that Somali students are among the university's top graduates and that the university is prepared to work with them and maintain the partnership in order to accept them and enroll them in the various faculties, with a special emphasis on the Islamic sciences faculty.
Several directors of religious institutions, professors from several universities, the legal syndicate, and some Somali alumni of Al-Ahgaff University who are employed in both public and commercial sectors attended the reception ceremonies.
