A team from the Supreme National Classification Committee of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited Al-Ahgaff University on a classification mission for the first round of Yemeni public and private universities for the past year 2024.

The team was received by the Vice President of Al-Ahgaff University, Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon, the Dean of Quality and Academic Accreditation at the University, Professor Ahmed Saleh Khured, the deans of faculties, and a number of faculty members.

Al-Ahgaff University Vice President Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon welcomed the visiting delegation at the start of the meeting and gave them an overview of the university's history, stages of development, and unique position in offering free education to Yemeni male and female students as a way to support and improve society. The universty also welcomed a large number of new students from other countries, particularly from East Africa (Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, and others) and Southeast Asia (Malaysia and Indonesia).

Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sabry, a member of the Supreme National Committee for University Classification, then went over the team's assignments, which included confirming the information submitted to the electronic platform for classification, surveying academics and employers who hire Al-Ahgaff University graduates, and getting student feedback on the calibre of services offered by the university. The committee established a timeline for finishing the team's task and going over all of the data that was supplied via the online platform. He sincerely thanked the university administration for the kind welcome and hospitality.

The team then visited the university's various faculties, classrooms, libraries, electronic library, and Hadhramaut Research Centre, which is regarded as one of the significant accomplishments in preparing male and female students from a variety of specialisations for the workplace as well as training cadres of businesses and institutions.

The meeting was attended, on part of the Ministry, by the Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Amin Al-Matari, the Director General of Financial Affairs at the Ministry, Mr. Jalal Al-Hashemi, and Zayed bin Shahab, the Director of Public Relations and Media at the Ministry. On part of the university, the meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the University, Eng. Faiz Ahmed bin Shamla, Dr. Hamza Al-Eidaroos, Vice Dean of Quality, Accreditation and Academic Affairs, Mr. Omar Salem Bahakam, the University's Liaison Officer for the National Classification of Universities, and the Legal Advisor, Dr. Hashem Alawi Muqaibel, deans of faculties, and a number of faculty members at the university. It is worth noting that Al-Ahgaff University was founded in 1995, and is a member of the Association of Arab Universities and the Federation of the Association of Islamic Universities.
