Faculty of Islamic Sciences Celebrates the Graduation of the Second Cohort of Islamic Studies and Qur’an and Its Sciences for the Academic Year 2022–2023

The Faculty of Islamic Sciences celebrated the graduation of its second cohort of students from the Departments of Islamic Studies and Qur’an and Its Sciences at a farewell ceremony held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

The ceremony commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a procession of the graduating students and a speech delivered on behalf of the graduates.

The President of the University then delivered a speech congratulating the students on their graduation and commending their four-year academic journey. He encouraged them to maintain sincere intentions, assume their responsibilities, represent the University in the best possible manner, contribute to Islamic outreach efforts, address ideas inconsistent with Islamic teachings, and serve their communities through the beneficial knowledge they had acquired during their studies.

Dr. Hashim Alawi Muqbil delivered the Dean’s speech on behalf of Dr. Samir Salman Sabi. In his remarks, he highlighted the establishment, mission, and objectives of the Faculty and expressed his appreciation for the continued support provided by the University President. He also addressed the graduates, encouraging them to convey knowledge with wisdom and good counsel and to benefit from the knowledge and education they had received at the University.

The ceremony also featured a variety of nasheed performances, as well as a presentation highlighting examples of previous graduates. A total of 27 students were honored, including 17 graduates from the Department of Islamic Studies and 10 graduates from the Department of Qur’an and Its Sciences.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the University leadership and members of the teaching staff were also honored in recognition of their contributions and efforts.

The event was attended by Mr. Alawi bin Abdulrahman Al-Attas, Member of the Board of Trustees; Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon, Vice President of the University; Eng. Faiz Ahmed bin Shamlah, Secretary-General of the University; along with a number of faculty members and guests.
