On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the welcome session was held for first-level students from the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, majoring in IT.

The head of the department, Dr. Muhammad Wahdeen, Dr. Hamza Ali Al-Aidarous, Mr. Omar Bahkam, the Registrar of the Faculty, Mr. Bassam Khamis Al-Tamimi, the Director of the Training Department at the Hadhramaut Research Center, and the Director of the Activities Department, Mr. Muhammad Salem Al-Buri attended.

At the beginning, Dr. Mohamed Wahdeen welcomed the students and gave an introduction to the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science and the IT Department, and its importance and impact on the labor market. He added that the staff in the faculty are famed for their efficiency and that the faculty is working with its full capacity to graduate distinguished, successful batches that are ready for the labor market. He talked about the most important materials and references that the student need to know in preparation for the university experience in the IT department.

Dr. Hamza Ali Al-Aidarous spoke about the importance of the role of university graduates from the previous batches in the local and international labor market and urged them to work hard and diligently, praising the faculty that works to follow up students at all stages of their studies.

Then the faculty registrar, Mr. Bassam Khamis Al-Tamimi, spoke about the university system in force in terms of attendance, absence, exams, dismissal, repetition, cheating, failure, grades, and others. He pointed out that the university is distinguished by its strict system, which would create a spirit of competition and diligence among students.

Then the Director of the Training Department at the Hadhramaut Research Center and the Director of Activities at the University talked about the English Language Proficiency Program and its importance for the student and the most important basic English language skills that university students need in order to continue studying, as the language used in the faculty is English.

He also talked about the opening of registration in the student activities committees for those interested, which are the Sports Committee, the Media Committee, the Organizing Committee and the Finance Committee.
