University Students and Artificial Intelligence: From Fear to Mastery at Al-Ahgaff University

The College of Engineering and Computer Science at Al-Ahgaff University, in coordination with the University’s Alumni Affairs Unit, organized a lecture on Monday titled “University Students and Artificial Intelligence: From Fear to Mastery.” The session was presented by Trainer Mohammed Nasser bin Ali Jaber and attended by students from the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, along with several faculty members.

At the beginning of the lecture, the Dean of the Faculty welcomed the attendees and praised such initiatives, emphasizing their role in enhancing students’ technological awareness and preparing them to meet the dynamic demands of the modern labor market amid the ongoing digital revolution.

During the session, Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Jaber discussed the concept of artificial intelligence, its historical development, and its various types. He also highlighted its key applications in education, engineering, programming, and business management, explaining how university students can move beyond apprehension toward creativity and professionalism in utilizing AI tools to serve their academic disciplines and future projects.

The lecture further emphasized the importance of analytical thinking skills, the ethical and responsible use of AI tools, and the role of artificial intelligence in scientific research and university project development.

At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed their appreciation to Al-Ahgaff University, the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, and the Alumni Affairs Unit for organizing such forward-looking programs that align with rapid technological advancements and contribute to preparing competent graduates for future challenges.

The event concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer, Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Jaber, from the Faculty and the Alumni Affairs Unit.

It is worth noting that Mr. bin Ali Jaber is an alumnus of Al-Ahgaff University’s Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, graduating in 2014.
