Launching the activities of the first Information Technology Week at the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Science

The Faculty of Computer Engineering and Science at Al-Ahgaff University opened the activities of the “First Information Technology Week” on the morning of Tuesday, January 23, 2024. The week includes a variety of scientific lectures on modern trends in the field of information technology and on the programs and applications used in it. These lectures are presented by a group of pioneering and distinguished students in the faculty’s Information Technology Department.

 

At the opening of the week, Dr. Hamza Al-Aidaroos, Dean of the Faculty, spoke about the importance of this event, which aims to develop students’ knowledge and contribute to giving them new skills they need in the labor market, calling on all students to interact and benefit from the various lectures presented in this event. In addition, Dr. Muhammad Wahdin, Head of the Information Technology Department, gave a speech in which he expressed his happiness at holding such events, noting in his speech the many benefits that will help students learn about new and modern technologies and programs. He thanked the students who took the initiative and participated in this week’s activities.

 

After that, the first lecture began and was entitled (Introduction to the GitHub platform), presented by students Abdullah Bazar and Hussein Balfqih, who are students studying in the fourth level in the Information Technology Department. Over the course of two hours, the two students gave an introductory overview of the GitHub platform. They also talked about its importance for IT students and how it can help software business teams develop their projects. The two students also provided a comprehensive explanation of how the platform works and how to use it, in addition to explaining a set of instructions and commands for using the GitHub platform.

 

The first day's event was attended by fourth-level and third-level students from the Information Technology Department at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering.
