The Chairwoman of the National Committee for Women in Hadhramaut Governorate, Mrs. Faiza Faraj Bamatraf visited today the Presidency of Al-Ahgaff University where she met the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sadiq Omar Maknoun.
During the meeting, they discussed the conditions of the university, especially the College of Girls and the difficulties facing female students transferred from the directorates, and the need to provide a hostel for female students coming from the directorates, and ways to increase the awareness of female students towards continuing their studies through the intensification of the university’s role in the media and awareness campaigns. The necessity to expand in various specializations was also discussed to meet the needs of society, especially that Al-Ahgaff University is distinguished by its distinctive outputs required in the local and external labor market, and what it provides to society with free education and excellent outputs contributing to the renaissance of the country.
Mrs. Bamatraf spoke about the role of the National Committee for Women and ways of cooperation with the university to help female students from rural directorates to continue university education, and help them evaluate the best choice for their future. The committee supports the university's role in community service.
The meeting was attended by Dean of the Girls College, Mr. Muhammad Ahmad Al-Batati, and the Girls College Register, Mrs. Khadija Othman Batarfi.
It is worth noting that Mrs. Faiza Bamatraf was one of the founders of the College of Girls at Al-Ahgaff University and she took over the administration of the college during the foundation stage in 1997-1998 and 1998-1999.
