Prof. Ahmed Saleh Khured, Dean of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation at Al-Ahgaff University, along with his deputy, Dr. Hamzah Ali Al-Aidaroos, participated in an orientation workshop organized by the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The workshop was held in Aden at the main campus of the University of Science and Technology from July 23 to 24, 2025, under the title:
“National Programmatic Academic Accreditation, Periodic Evaluation, and Licensing.”
The workshop brought together representatives from both public and private universities across Yemen. Its primary goal was to enhance the capacities of higher education institutions, develop institutional and academic mechanisms, and improve readiness to meet accreditation and quality standards. These efforts aim to improve educational outcomes, align graduates' competencies with local, regional, and international labor market demands, and strengthen the visibility of Yemeni universities within the global higher education landscape.

In the second session, Prof. Huda Basaleem, Council Member, and Dr. Anwar Ahmed Qasem, Secretary-General of the Council, presented a comprehensive overview of the programmatic accreditation agreements between the Council and universities. They discussed evaluation processes, academic licensing, and relevant regulatory procedures.
The workshop was marked by active engagement and fruitful discussions. Participants raised a number of questions and inputs that enriched the dialogue and contributed to a deeper understanding of accreditation requirements and how institutions can benefit from them moving forward.
