President of Al-Ahgaff University Visits Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Anis Matta

The President of Al-Ahgaff University, Professor Al-Sayyid Abdullah bin Mohammed Baharoon, paid a visit today to Mr. Anis Matta, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia for Middle Eastern and Islamic World Affairs, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta.

The meeting discussed avenues for academic and cultural cooperation between Al-Ahgaff University and educational and research institutions in Indonesia, as well as prospects for supporting Indonesian students studying at the university in Hadramout and facilitating academic exchanges between the two sides.

Professor Baharoon highlighted the deep historical and cultural ties between the Yemeni and Indonesian peoples, noting the role of Al-Ahgaff University in serving higher education in the region and its ongoing efforts to build strong bridges of cooperation with Asian universities, particularly in Indonesia, which hosts a Yemeni community and students from across the Islamic world.

For his part, Mr. Anis Matta welcomed the visit, expressing the Ministry’s readiness to support academic initiatives and scientific projects that strengthen mutual cooperation. He emphasized the importance of education as a bridge for cultural rapprochement and deepening mutual understanding between nations.

The Indonesian Deputy Minister also praised the status of Al-Ahgaff University and its pioneering role in education and enlightenment, as well as the facilities it offers to Indonesian students, many of whom have graduated from the university, which enjoys the respect and appreciation of all Indonesians.

Professor Baharoon was accompanied on the visit by Dr. Hassan bin Hussein Al-Jifri (Head of Al-Ahgaff University Office in Indonesia), Habib Hamza bin Abdullah Baharoon (Vice Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at Al-Ahgaff University), Dr. Buya Yahya Zain Al-Arif, Dr. Ali bin Alawi Al-Kaf, Dr. Mohammed Hanif Al-Attas, and Mr. Aidaroos Fa’li.
