The Quality and Academic Accreditation Department at Al-Ahgaff University held a training course entitled "Strategies of Teaching and Evaluation" targeting the university’s academic staff, including professors, lecturers and teaching assistants from all faculties. The course lasted for six training hours from 5-6 January, and was presented by the trainer, Dr. Muhammad Hassan Al-Aidarous.
The course began with a speech from the Director of Quality Management, Dr. Ahmed Saleh Khurd, in which he welcomed the attendees and spoke about the importance of the course in terms of development for the academic staff and that it is the beginning of a set of courses aimed at developing the academic side at the university.
The trainer, Dr. Muhammad Hassan Al-Aidarous, spoke in the course about a set of main points related to teaching and assessment strategies, where he began by talking about a historical approach to teaching, learning and learner, and discussed the major philosophies of education according to their differences in time and place, and the different curricula and methods of developing them.
Then he moved on to studying the most important behavioral and evaluation goals.
And discussed Bloom's characterization of the cognitive domain (Bloom taxonomy) as a means of reviewing the most important aspects of the evaluation.
The course concluded by explaining the most important methods of setting exams in a manner that takes into account the differences among students and their skills to ensure their proper evaluation.
At the end of the session, certificates of attendance were distributed to all attendees.
