On Saturday 3rd December, in Mukalla, Hadramout Governorate, the proceedings of the international scientific conference “Smart Technology, Systems and Services of the Internet of Everything”, which is organized by Al-Ahgaff University in Hadramout, during the period 3-4 December.
The conference, which is being held under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ahmed Al-Wasabi, and the Governor of Hadramout, Head of the Local Council, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madhi, is organized in coordination with the American “Ford Ham” University and the British company "Ritechs" and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Yemen branch of IEEE, with the participation of researchers from 18 countries presenting 38 scientific research papers that was refereed by local and external arbitrators according to international research standards. These scientific papers were accepted out of a total of 84 research papers submitted to the conference.
The conference, which was attended by the representative of the Governor of Hadramout, the Deputy Governor Hassan Salem Al-Jilani, a member of the Shura Council, Dr. Fouad Omar bin Al-Sheikh Abu Bakr, and university presidents, deans, researchers and academics, aims to achieve the vision of Al-Ahgaff University in leadership and excellence in scientific research and education, leading to academic accreditation, and providing solutions Keeping pace with human progress that protect man from himself and opens the doors of happiness and goodness for him/her.
The President of Al-Ahgaff University, Professor Abdullah Muhammad Baharoon, confirmed that the interest in the content of the conference stems from the importance of technology, information and communication , which represents strength and authority to provide many opportunities for talented and creative people who have the insight and determination to break through the walls of the siege imposed by the harsh conditions in front of the creative individual and in front of organizations and societies, and the Internet opens new doors for those who have insight and will, pointing out that the current economic and political conditions and the state of war that our country is going through did not limit the ambition of Al-Ahgaff University to participate in the global scientific research process through its young researchers in the Faculty of Computer, so that this conference will be followed by other scientific conferences that the university will hold in miscellaneous research fields.
The President of Al-Ahgaff University indicated that the conference contributes to presenting research on the Internet of Everything, through academic research, to provide solutions that prevent human enslavement and exploitation, and that the fruits of technological progress are not destruction to humanity, but rather benefits for them so that a few people do not enslave other human beings, expressing his happiness at the multiplicity of participants in the conference from several countries and different nationalities.
A speech at the opening ceremony of the conference, delivered by the Secretary-General of the Association of Islamic Universities, Professor Dr. Osama Al-Abd, praised Al-Ahgaff University’s organization of this specialized qualitative scientific conference, which simulates the present and anticipates the future and its electronic innovations, praising the modernization of the message of the contemporary Islamic University to advance the introduction of contemporary technology methods, to take part in scientific progress not only using it.
The Secretary-General of the Association of Islamic Universities saluted the interest of Al-Ahgaff University in the sciences of smart technology and internet systems and keeping up with its scientific novelties to meet the issues of the times and contribute to keeping pace with global developments and creating a generation armed with science and modern knowledge, to continue to radiate its scientific and knowledge beacon, as an extension of the Hadramout civilization that bears its name, hoping that Al-Ahgaff University will become a prominent member of the League of Islamic Universities, and be an effective role model for promoting the potentials of the youth and the Arab and Islamic nations.
At the opening, speeches were delivered by the General President of the conference from the company "Ritechs" and the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, Prof. Dr. Abd al-Rahman al-Sawari, from the University of Cambridge in Britain, John Crowcroft, from the University of Birmingham, Professor Adel Anaba, from the University of Al-Ahgaff, Dr. Hamza Al-Aidarous, and Dr. Hassan Muqaibel, and Dr. Mazen Bahashwan from the IEEE Institute, all praised the content of the scientific conference in keeping up with the modernity of the times.
