Al-Ahgaff University won one of the gold medals in the Research and Innovation Poster Competition (RIPC) for students’ graduation projects and postgraduate research held in Malaysia, organized by MNNF Network. (174) projects designed in the form of POSTERs from different countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Yemen and South Africa were submitted to participate in the competition.

A team from the Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) at the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Science participated in the competition, led by Dr. Hamza Al-Aidrous and four students: Abdullah Al-Jufri, Ahmed Al-Kaf, Ahmed Al-Sumahi, and Al-Hassan Abu-Numai. The project of the university team called (Autism Children Technical System -ACTS) aims to develop an application that represents the technical system for managing the data of autistic children. The ACTS project won the admiration of the organizing committee and the jury, and won a gold medal, which was announced on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

For his part, the project supervisor, Dr. Hamzah Al-Aidarous, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the University, Professor/ Abdullah Muhammad Baharoon, and to his deputy, Professor/ Sadiq Omar Maknoon, for their encouragement and interest in such participations, which had an impact, after God’s success, in winning the award. He also praised the members of his participating team for winning the gold medal, praising their efforts to win the award and raise the name of the university in this international competition.

It is worth noting that another student project for a group of graduates: Abdullah Baaqeel, Ahmed Belahwal, and Mustafa Al-Sayed, supervised by Dr. Hamza Al-Aidrous, won the Best Research Award at the International Conference on Smart Technology, Systems and Internet Services of Everything (ITSS-IoE 2022), which was held At Al-Ahgaff University in Mukalla, Hadramout Governorate, in December last year.
